Hi,
my name is Alexandra and i live in Australia. I have just watched your video has made my mum and i cry because my 9 year old brother has type 1 diabetes.
The diabetes has change my family's life and harder to live with go to hospital every 3months.
My family helps out with funarisers alot and lots of people asked me why?
Lots of people think that the diabetes that my brother has is type 2

i was diagnosed with diabetes about a year and a half ago...
and its the best thing that ever happened to me!!i mean im still young so i guees when i get older and lose limbs and shit then it wont be so much fun... diabetes has changed my life 4 the best!when i was in high school i could leave class wenevr i wanted 2 to eat, i got 2 inject myself in public!!
im sorry but diabetes rocks! stop looking at the glass that half empty...

I have a beautiful 15 yr old daughter living with juvenile Diabetes. I am amazed at the strength and maturity that these children have at such a young age. My daughter understands that insulin is her LIFE SUPPORT. We know of several children who have slipped away due to complications of their diabetes. This is unacceptable. I have to disagree with keevs4u. Diabetes does NOT rock. A cure would rock. To all with Juevile Diabetes, take care of yourself and never lose hope.

jhen, when i said that diabetes "ROCKS" i obviously do not mean that it is better than not having it at all... but i was trying 2 say that it changes people and it can make you in2 a better person! i understand that it is a deadly and dangerous disease but i have learned that you have2 deal with what life throws at you, and not just feel sorry for yourself

i really do hope for a cure and i think that it would be the best thing in the world... but i also know that it has changed my life for the better! im in really good shapeand i eat well. because of my diabetes i am more healthy than i would have been b4 (if u know what i mean). plus, having diabetes has helped me get in2 a good college.. which can open many doors for me in the future. im not saying its a great thing 2 have but if you have the disease u should look at the bright side of it :)
